About This Blog

This blog was initially intended for my full-time mission before I knew I would be getting married. Now I'm a more determined member missionary or witness for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Please share your thoughts with kindess and respect. I would also appreciate reading your own testimonies if you would like to share them.

I love looking at people and thinking about the potential we each have. I truly believe in beautiful souls.

Today was Elder Bolton's farewell. It reminded me of freshman year, but not to the point that it made me nostalgic.

It's refreshing and inspiring to be around those boys preparing to leave and become the Lord's hands. I spent quite a bit of time talking with soon-to-be Elder Bolton and soon-to-be Elder Hunsaker. Seeing how they've prepared and grown to rise to the occasion makes me want to go so badly.

Besides school and my calling, nothing is in my way - no boys. Sure I'm interested in a few, but none have really struck me yet. I can think about happily going on a mission without there being a guy to think about on the side.

I want to go. I still haven't even turned 20, but this is me - I've been dying to go for so long and I am so anxious that the time is coming!

Paciencia, paciencia, paciencia.
The Lord has a plan for me and I know this.

I am still over a year away from serving a mission, but I am still on the track that I am pretty sure I will serve a full-time mission.

I thought I would begin recording now, just because it is neat to see background stories BEFORE an event.

Well, I'm not even 20 yet. I have been planning on this since I was 4. Both my parents served missions, 7 of my older siblings served, many of my friends are currently serving, and I have grown up around many women who have served missions.

I have been trying to prepare since I was probably 13 - little by little. When I was younger, my uncle was serving in South Africa and I had no clue what a mission was; I thought it was teaching animals how to talk. And I was told when I was 4 I would be a good sister missionary because I loved to wear dresses - funny. When I was in third grade, I sure didn't know because I thought I was supposed to keep everything a secret. I tried to be better about sharing the truth I knew. In High School I gave out some materials, and I spent time working with the sisters and elders who served in my area. As a Freshman - all I could think about was mission mission mission. I would volunteer four hours a week at the MTC - I learned SOOO much. It was beautiful and I love the MTC. I wish I could work there.

It was important to me that I learned how to be a better member missionary, because that is what we promise at baptism - sharing the Gospel is a lifelong goal, not just a specific portion of your life. I know I've already started my mission trying to bear testimony to non-members as well as members. I really want people to know that they can be happier and I want then to know who they are. The Gospel is what makes life beautiful.

I guess that's it for now. :]
